My Tag Book – Baby Tale

Mel81pop is a very talented scrapper and she has a number of  friends who are at various levels of Scrapbooking from beginers to quite advanced, to help those starting out she has been holding classes and as we all enjoy a good chat and some new challenges I went along  below are  the pages from my tag book  started during the class and finished at home.

Here is the front cover of my book, The title was set by the alphas I used, as they were too big to fit Babies Tale on the cover.

The reason for the book was that there had been a lot of babies this last year or so, we had managed with only the one Grandchild for 14 years and then like buses 3 came along in quick succsession. Don't get me wrong I would not part with any of them but it was all babies so to be able to compare them all easily I made a book of babies,

Starting with my Husband Roger in 1948

Then there was me  in 1957

Then our first Daughter Laura 1976

1978 saw the arrival of Abigail

Then in 1982 our son James

First of the Grandchidren was Philip in 1995

More pictures of Philip

Then Nathaniel arrived a brother for Philip in 2008

Then in 2009  a little sister for them both with the arrival of Zoe

Then a month later Ari was here

This was a lovely project to do and for a little book there are so many surfaces to  add picture and embelishments too, Thank you Phillipa

More Baby Books

I missed the book I made for my Nathaniel’s other Grandparents so I made another for me

The Baby Word books were sent out to  all the family announcing Nathaniels birth in August

Mini Book in a Tin

I made this mini book in a tin for my DD2 to cheer her up after she wrote her car off, She was just a little sore but the car was a sorry sight,

I used K & Co Papers in shades of Blue and as the Dragonfly and Waterlilies were the theme for her wedding  it was perfect.

House Book

Bitten by the BIA bug I  was looking for another project, a collague at work who is from Benin asked me what my house was like and here is the book of my House,

I did a page for each room and a page of text telling the stories from the 35 years we have lived there.

The Peacock feathers are featured in the curtains in the Lounge.

Arthur Silver  designed the famous Liberty 'Peacock Feather' fabric in 1887 which is still produced today and is one of the enduring images of art nouveau.

A little early for the house that is Edwardian 1904.

Baby Book

In August of 2008 we became Grandparents for the second time after a gap of 13 years our DD1 and Partner had a son Nathaniel a brother for Philip, as his other set of Grandparent live at the other side of the country I made them this book as a Christmas Present.

Cover idea came from a card created by Tracy Gough the credit for this design is all hers.

Nathaniels other Grandparents loved it.

CD Book

Inspired by the work of Voodoo Vixen  http://scraphappenshere.blogspot.com/  I bought a Bind It All   http://www.binditall.blogspot.com/  and being me as a first attempt I made a CD Book  normal people start with little note books  and easy things   so I collected some unwanted CD and used to BIA to make holes in the sides for the wires  as the BIA is straight and the CDs are curved you do get some part holes these you cover with your pretty paper afterwards,   BEWARE it makes a horrid noise while you cut and only 1 at a time.

The theme for my CD Book was our Cats we used to have 4 but sadly last year we lost Willow to Thyroid problems he was 14 years old, part Siamese and part Moggy with a constant purr he used to sit on my lap when I watched the TV.

This was in a way of remembering him  and the other 3 who are all Birmans  Seal Points and extremely Silly, We have Mum Crystal, Daughter Holly who is stone deaf and chews wires and Auntie Sapphire .

They are all nuts about DH and follow him around vying for his attention.

Holly sleeps in some very odd positions almost inside out
